Jolie completed both her Masters of Physical Therapy and Bachelors of Kinesiology in Health Science at UBC. Growing up competing in various sports including volleyball, basketball, track and field, swimming, and dragonboat, she was introduced to physiotherapy through her own injuries, which sparked an interest in rehabilitation. While at UBC, Jolie worked as a student athletic trainer for the UBC Men’s Volleyball Team, through which she was granted the opportunity to assist on the rehabilitation team for the Women’s National Volleyball Team and Men’s Youth National Volleyball Team.
