What Exactly Does The Knee Kinesiography Measure And Why?
Knee Kinesiography with the KneeKG system is for the knee what the electrocardiogram is for the heart.
Knee pain occurs when the joint is in motion. Knee Kinesiography accurately and objectively assesses the entire movement of the knee to help health professionals and their patients better understand pain and symptoms.
- Mechanical deficits are associated with the appearance and progression of pain, instability and pathologies of the knee
- The eyes and the hands cannot always effectively identify and evaluate these mechanical deficits
- The mechanical deficits, once identified and measured, can be corrected with an appropriate treatment plan
Who Would Benefit From a KneeKG Evaluation?
Knee kinesiography can help people suffering from:
– Osteoarthritis
– Knee Pain
– Ligament or Meniscal Injuries
– Anterior Knee Pain / Patellofemoral Syndrome
*** Note: The KneeKG knee kinesiography is not a treatment, but rather a dynamic test aimed at providing an exercise report adapted to the patient’s condition. The kinesiologists & physiotherapists of RebalanceMD are certified technicians of the KneeKG.
Knee Kinesiography With The KneeKG System
The Knee Kinesiography with the KneeKG system is a clinical examination that accurately and objectively assesses the patient’s complete knee movement – flexion / extension, rotation (internal and external) and abduction / adduction while the patient is walking on a conventional treadmill.
The computerized assessment provides data on dynamic alignment and other mechanical deficits. The exam provides a better understanding of the causes of knee symptoms in patients with knee osteoarthritis, ligament injuries, previous pain and other types of knee problems, including persistent pain post-surgery.
Knee Kinesiography can also be used for athletes to understand mechanical deficits that may limit their level of performance or increase the risk of injury.
How Does The Process Work?
We start with a Physiotherapy Assessment to determine suitability for the KneeKG Testing. The second visit will consist of the KneeKG evaluation. In a third meeting, we present our analysis of the report findings as well as the exercises related to it. Thereafter, personalized follow-up is established according to each patients’ needs.
Important
Please wear shorts (no leggings or jogging pants) and do not put cream on the legs before the evaluation.
