Julie Clarke

Physiotherapist Navigator

Julie graduated from the University of Western Ontario in 1998 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Physical Therapy. Prior to that she completed a Bachelor of Science Degree in Microbiology at the University of British Columbia. Julie has diverse clinical experience as a physiotherapist, working predominantly in the acute care hospital setting at various hospitals in Vancouver and Victoria. Over the past several years she has gained valuable experience in pre-operative joint replacement surgery preparation and education, an area she has become quite passionate about. Julie looks forward to working with her patients to facilitate and enhance their surgical journey.

Gisele Morrow completed her BScN degree from the University of Victoria in 2005. Since then, Gisele has worked primarily in orthopaedics and has completed her Certification in Orthopaedic Nursing from the Canadian Nursing Association. She has also worked as a clinical instructor with the Camosun College nursing faculty.

Paula Sanglap Bono

Nurse Navigator

Paula graduated from the University of Victoria in 2006 with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Prior to this, she graduated in 2001 with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Sociology. Since leaving nursing school, Paula has worked in the acute care orthopaedic and post-operative rehabilitation settings in hospital. She also engaged the Clinical Nurse Leader role for both of these inpatient wards. Most recently, Paula worked as a Nursing Officer for Corrections Canada. From this she gained much interest in the relationship between chronic disease processes, mental health and chronic pain issues. Paula utilizes her experience in all these areas to help patients achieve the best outcome for their total knee or hip replacements.

Lisa joins us from Revelstoke, British Columbia, where she worked for the last fifteen years in a large integrated community practice as their clinic nurse. With over 25 years of nursing experience, she brings an extensive medical/surgical nursing background. Her goal is to facilitate the individualized patient experience, to increase the patient’s sense of ownership and participation in their care, and to in turn ultimately optimize their health and recovery.

Melissa graduated from the University of Victoria in 2009 with a Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing. Since graduation, Melissa has worked primarily on the acute care Orthopaedic wards at both the Royal Jubilee Hospital and the Victoria General Hospital. She also had the opportunity to work as the Clinical Nurse Leader of both the Orthopaedic Unit and the Complex Musculoskeletal Rehabilitation Unit. Melissa looks forward to working with patients and supporting their total joint replacement journey.

Cory Taves

Cory received a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from the University of Victoria and a Master’s degree in Physical Therapy from the University of Manitoba. He uses manual therapy and specific exercise prescription to decrease pain and restore function. A strong advocate of education, Cory’s approach to therapy focuses on ensuring his patients understand the causes of and treatments for their dysfunction. Cory has a strong clinical interest in orthopaedic physiotherapy, pre- and post-operative rehabilitation and promoting an active lifestyle as a pillar of holistic health.

Matthew graduated from the University of British Columbia in Physiotherapy in 1992 and has worked in the area of sports and orthopedics for the last 20 years. Matthew has continued his training with numerous courses in orthopedics &manual therapy and has developed an interest in the pathology & treatment of the shoulder. Matthew swam for the University of Victoria and continues to be active in sports specifically swimming, surfing and road riding. He continues to enjoy the area of physiotherapy specifically seeing the return to a full active lifestyle.

Patricia Roney

Patricia holds a Master's of Physical Therapy from Queen's University, and a Bachelor's of Kinesiology from the University of Victoria.

Prior to joining the health care team at RebalanceMD, Patricia worked as bilingual military physiotherapist in the Canadian Forces. Patricia works one-on-one with each of her patients, focusing on a hands-on approach using myofascial release, manual therapy, movement patterns and exercise prescription to restore her patient's function. She is currently pursing her Advanced Diploma of Manual and Manipulative therapy, and her Sports Physiotherapy Certificate.

Patricia has a particular interest in pre- and post-surgical rehabilitation, as well as sport related physical therapy. She competed as a varsity track and cross-country runner, and worked as the assistant coach for the varsity running program at Queen's University following her Master's degree. In 2013, she volunteered as a physiotherapist for Team Canada at the World Youth Track and Field Championships in Ukraine.
